Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
Trained ROR CERT Members aim to offer “initial response” assistance to the ROR community in the period before professional first responders (Fire Dept., EMS, Police) can arrive on the scene, any of which may be delayed for some time following a disaster event such as a hurricane.

How can you help and how can we help you?
You can help by letting us know what resources & skills you could contribute to an emergency response. Similarly, let us know of any issues you may have to deal with so that we can best help you. Complete the “ROR Resources Questionaire” the link above and return it to the Managing Agent.
How can you become CERT-certified and serve the Community?
“The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community.” http://www.fema.gov/community-emergency-response-teams/
CERT Training is provided FREE by Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management. Whether or not you wish to become an active member of the ROR CERT, the training is wortwhile – providing essential information for keeping you and your family safe is an emergency. This training could save a life!
